Whatever happens to strike my fancy at the moment...

I subscribe to a sublime and wildly cauterizing e-column by San Francisco Chronicle (sfgate.com) columnist & editor Mark Morford. His several times weekly subscriber-only e-mail is called The Morning Fix, and here is how Mark Morford describes Shania Twain's little show during the Super Bowl:
Shania's eight-minute soul-molesting medley was script perfect and Vegas tacky and she hit all her stage marks and sported that godawful glittery faux-goth trailer-park hotpants ensemble thing, looking like something hocked up by Liberace during a laudanum-infused Barbarella nightmare.
Mark has quite a way with words, and an incredibly vivid imagination. I thoroughly enjoy his column.

I think I've eaten just WAY too much chocolate cake over the past couple days!

...and by the way, Shania Twain should sue whoever made her wear that god-awful outfit. It looked like a Halloween costume.

Quotes of Note from Super Bowl XXXVII:
"Each situation affects each situation" - John Madden
"He did what he do" - Simeon Rice

"The Raiders choked. The Bucs kicked butts." - Lucy Klick :)

I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful family and friends, and a husband that is truly a gem of a human being.

I thank all of them for making another birthday so memorable for me.

Wow!! Debra & Jeff's artspace remodelling project is really starting to take shape and look fantastic!!! It will be totally awesome when it is done. Can't wait to go there for Yoga class!

Another sunny day in Albuquerque.

The weather is totally freaky right now. Everyone I talk to east of the Rockies is in the "arctic zone" deep freeze, while here in Albuquerque it is simply balmy. I went for a walk at lunchtime wearing a light cotton jacket, and it was almost too warm! AAuuggh! It's too warm even for Albuquerque! We should be getting snow, with highs in the 40s this time of year! Somethin' ain't right......

Deal of the Month:
I found a $68 down vest at American Eagle Outfitters on sale for $15! That is unreal. What a deal! ! !

There's nothing quite like getting a new car, and this VUE is the perfect set of wheels for us.

The name of the vehicle is quite apt, as VUE is exactly what you get with all those windows and a sunroof.

What else can I say? Woo-Hoo!

Total Excitement Today!!!!
Wayne & I are purchasing our first automobile together!!!! A new Saturn VUE!! Woo-hoo! 4-wheel drive? NOT!!!
Nope, we aren't doing the 4WD thing -- no need for that. I thought about it 6 yrs ago when I purchased my Ranger -- no need for it then, no need for it now. The VUE has front-wheel drive, and that's perfect for us. I'm sure there will be a picture of it on my homepage by this evening.

Yesterday was Jeff's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Yesterday Jeff!!

My Mother says the weather has warmed up a tad in Roanoke, VA. They really got a cold front on that side of the country. Albuquerque is still unseasonable warm, sunny and perfect for going out to work in the yard today -- then go pick up our VUE this afternoon! Woo-Hoo!

There is something about going out to eat at a really nice restaurant occasionally that is worth saving up for. Saving up money and saving up your appetite. It was worth it! aaaahhhhhhh......... (and Flan with fresh-brewed decaf for dessert! what more could one ask for?)

Hey! Another sunny day in Albuquerque. Why won't it SNOW around here?
We keep crossing our fingers... we need the moisture... we don't like this drought stuff.

In the meantime, I'll enjoy sipping my nice hot mug of English Breakfast and get back to work!
