Whatever happens to strike my fancy at the moment...

We decided to turn on the Oscars ceremony promptly at the appointed hour, just for the heck of it. During the collage of film scenes which opened the show, I was totally thrilled to see Legolas sliding down the stairs of Helm's Deep on his shield -- one of my absolute favorite moments from LOTR Two Towers.
Then, it was as if someone poked a big hole in the beautiful balloon, and let out all the hot air. Chris Roc landed like a TON OF BRICKS! We listened to him holler into the mic, and about 3 minutes was all we could take. Talk about "bull in a china shop". It just didn't work for me.
We immediately changed the channel, and watched a Sex in the City re-run, before watching this week's episode of Carnivale. Now that's what I call decent entertainment.
We switched back to the Oscars after Carnivale, in time to catch Antonio Banderas and Carlos Santana's musical collaboration. I enjoyed that a lot.
And now, my need to get to bed early will succeed in pre-empting the remaining hour of the Ocsars. It seems Chris Roc didn't improve as the ceremony proceeded.

Well, the Super Bowl didn't go into OT. The Pats ramped it up a notch, and held the lead til the end. Eagles just kind of lost it. Still, a good game to watch, and we really enjoyed Sir Paul McCartney's halftime entertainment. Very mellow. I like mellow this time of year, on a Sunday afternoon. The holidays just seem to wear us out anymore, so this time of year we like to hang out inside and be couch potatoes. This year's Super Bowl seemed to fill that bill very nicely.
It wasn't any chore to get up and go to work this Monday morning. That was even better! :)
We had ice on our cars this morning, but the roads around Lawrence weren't bad. We're supposed to get some snow on Tuesday. I guess we'll see what it amount to.

Third quarter; almost the 4th quarter. It's tied 14-14.
I am predicting an OT game for this Super Bowl! Let's see how it turns out!!!
