Whatever happens to strike my fancy at the moment...

Here's a Cyber Toast to our good friends, John & Lisa:

"May your wedding day be everything you want it to be, and may the rest of your years together be as beautiful, loving, harmonious and full of joy as the many years you have already spent together. Congratulations, and have a fantastic day in Homer, Alaska!"

YOWZA!!!!

The WAKARUSA FESTIVAL at nearby Clinton Lake is in full swing!!! We are bummed we can't make it (again) this year because we just bought our townhouse and are too short on money and time because we are moving (again) this year. NEXT YEAR we will BE THERE!

Click this link then click on the Photo Gallery to see a great group of portraits put together by our local rag:

ROYALS SWEEP DODGERS!!!!!!!! WOO-HOO!!!

We Royals fans have this to say to the Dodgers on their first visit to Kaufmann Stadium:
"Welcome to Kansas City!!!" :)

I'm afraid we prefer Royals Blue over Dodger Blue. The Dodgers can go away with their blue tails tucked between their legs! Meanwhile, the fearless leader, Buddy Bell, seems to have cast a spell over the Royals team. They are winning games and pulling themselves out of the tight spots and redeeming themselves after bad plays.... rather exciting!

Everything is GREEN and GROWING in Lawrence these days. I am still thrilled to see how incredibly beautiful Kansas cornfields are. The acres of dark shiny corn plants seem to grow overnight. We've been getting a lot of rain lately -- some remarkable electical storms this weekend. Now we need some hot sunshine to dry everything out for the Wakarusa Festival coming up this weekend!

We spent the weekend continuing to slowly move some more things into our townhouse. We spent most of Sat & Sun painting our bedroom, which is rather large compared to the overall size of the place. We had to rent a 10 ft ladder to finish up the ceiling where it slants up to 12 ft at the apex. As long as I didn't look down I was OK. The paint job is fabulous. The color we used was Ace Harware "Clear Creek", and it is magnificent! We did a fantastic job of painting, if I do say so myself. We will certainly enjoy it.

Woo-hoo! The Royals just swept the Yankees!!!! Woo-hoo!!

I think Buddy Bell has the magic touch with this Royals team. He seems to be the missing link.

Go Royals!

Holy Cow!!! The Royals beat the Yankees last night!!!! Right now they're leading 3-0 over the Yanks in game 2 of the 3-game series! Royals Stadium is full of cheering fans! Woo-hoo!

Today we became homeowners for the second time. This home purchasing experience was far superior over the previous one way back in 1999, in another town in another state.

We now own a really nice townhome in the city of Lawrence, in the county of Douglas, in the state of Kansas (I almost wrote Oz!) :) Indeed, we feel like we've become residents of the Emerald City. This town is as green as green can be, with a big ole grain elevator on the northeast corner of town. It is such a fine place to live, we really do feel like we've landed in the land of Oz. Only this place is real, and it didn't take a tornado to get us here.

" There's no place like home.... "
