Whatever happens to strike my fancy at the moment...

We sure do have a lot to be thankful for.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with family, and a beautiful drive home under an incredible night sky. Venus was at a mid level on the horizon, and shining like a beacon in the sky. Mars was brilliant, as well, and quite red.

My glass of wine I'm now sipping is quite red, and very tastey -- Fetzer Merlot. The perfect finale to a wonderful day.

Let's Goooooooooooooo Mountaineers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr Trichler at this time.

We had our first snowflakes of the season today and this evening. There was no accumulation, but it was lovely to look at, even though it was short-lived.

Somehow it seemed appropriate that the day Bill Snyder announced his retirement as head coach at K State, there would be snow flying.

We are now left with blustery cold wind whipping down the pike, making for a good night of snuggling, and sound sleep.

Happy Birthday Heather!

Somehow I lost track of what the date is. I guess I was just tired of watching the calendar at work all week, and quit looking at it at 5pm on Friday. I didn't realize that today was the 13th until it was about 7pm!

This weekend was pretty nice for the middle of November. It got up to 80 deg yesterday, probably for about 15 min. The wind was puffing out of the south. The highest temp I saw was 76, but that's still pretty darned warm for this time of year. Today was only about 62, and it was beautiful. Perfect for raking and bagging leaves. That's how we spent our afternoon, and it was nice.

Ted Kooser is the current, 13th, United States Poet Laureate. We had the opportunity to hear him read this evening. He hails from Ames, Iowa. His poetry hits home. It is definitely homespun, direct, poignant, & quite often humorous.

The event was free to the public, and held in a beautiful venue on the KU campus -- Woodruf Auditorium in the Kansas Union Bldg. How delightful. The place was packed and Ted Kooser was simply wonderful.

We stopped by the natural foods store, The Merc, on the way home, and picked up a couple of Blue Sky Gingerales on the way home.

The night sky is full of stars this evening, and it's way too warm for the 3rd of Nov -- 63 deg. It's supposed to cool down a bit tomorrow, but still unseasonably warm. Can't really complain, because it's so comfortable, and economical -- don't have to run either the heat or the A/C. Groovy.
