I've been with my new employer for over a year, now, and I'm very happy with the way my job has turned out. It is a challenge every day; and a pleasure that my co-workers are thoughtful, intelligent, honest, witty, gritty, nitty folks. Thanks to Kevin, my Mgr, who let our dept go early today. It was a busy day, too!
Cheers to Todd & Cyn!!! Sorry we can't be there for your "Old Year's Eve" party this evening!
We are clinking our bottles of ale together in your honor! "clink!"
OK... let's bring on another bowl game!!!!

I'm looking forward to saying farewell to 2005. It certainly has had its up and and downs. We mourn the loss of Debbie, Donna, Murdic, and elderly Wayne T. We miss each of them greatly.
My mother is back in her home after an 8-month displacement due to a house fire last Feb. We are all grateful she is back home again, and thanks to my sister, her home is once again a warm and wonderful place to live.
We both have very good jobs, and a nice roof over our heads. We are truly grateful for these blessings.
May the new year bring good things to all of us.

We enjoyed a Hometown Christmas. We drove to Wayne's hometown of Yates Centers, KS yesterday afternoon, taking a different route than we had taken previously. There are tons of migrating birds in the skies lately. There are even bald eagles nesting here in downtown Lawrence by the river!
Yates Center was just lovely, with plenty of Christmas lights. The Christmas Eve candlelight service was very spiritual -- just perfect for Christmas Eve.
Our day was a nice Christmas Sunday, with early church, then a wonderful family gathering out at Beth & Mike's. We were glad to be spending the time with Wayne's Mother, and helping fill her lonliness at losing her husband the day after Thanksgiving. She is quite an inspiration to everyone.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Time sure does fly when it's the holiday season. I think I'm fighting off a cold or something. We woke up to beautiful, light snowfall, and it's snowed all day long. It's only about 2 inches accumulation, and the roads aren't any big deal. It's just beautiful, and definitely "looking a lot like Christmas, all around the town.....". :)
We got back home from mailing packages, and I was just cold all over, so I made a cup of hot tea, and promptly took a nap! I'm feeling better now, and would feel even perkier if the Chiefs would win over the Giants! Go Chiefs!!!! They've tied it up!!! Woo-hoo!

Time seems to fly when you've got too many irons in the fire. A death in the family tends to lend itself to that particular situation. We are getting back into the swing of things. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are enjoying our snowy landscape. Our patio table still has about a foot of snow piled on top of it. The "official" Lawrence total on Thurs morning was 7", but our little neck of the woods got a bit more than that. The main roads are pretty cleared off. Our street is still rather piled up, but drivable. Yesterday morning it was -3 deg on our patio. The airport was reporting -13! I'm glad I don't live by the airport!
Today we are rebounding into the 30's! -- practically balmy!
Today is a "holiday" kind of day. We are making crockpot chili, then will spend the rest of the day baking cookies, working on Christmas cards, and digging around the garage for the Christmas lights. In other words -- it's "hot toddy time". :)
Wayne's been downloading some wonderful holiday music -- whole CDs of: Manhattan Transfer, James Taylor, Neil Diamond, Dave Brubeck, Lynyrd Skynyrd, House of Blues -- quite a holiday CD collection!
