Today was a glorious spring day, albeit on the chilly side. It got up to 49 deg, but there was tons of sunshine. It was rather chilly towards the end of our long, late-afternoon walk. We hiked all the way over to the KU campus and took pictures as the sun was starting to get low on the horizon. The redbud is coming out, as well as the forsythia. It was just a really nice way to get some fresh air and exercise, not to mention some awesome photos.
Ahhh springtime in Lawrence....

Well, the Mountaineers gave Texas a real run for their money. It was a nail-biter to the last 100th of a second.
Enjoy the glory while you can, Longhorns, because LSU is gonna clean your clock -- but good. Just like they did the Blue Devils. JJ Redick spent half the night bouncing off of the bohemoth known as Glen Davis (aka "Shaq-2"). I think LSU is gonna take the whole enchilada if they continue to play the way they did against Duke.
TGIF!!!

Our winter snowstorm never materialized. Sunday night, the forecast was for 6-10" on Monday afternoon. Monday morning, it was rain/sleet/snow mix that lasted until about 9am, then turned all to rain. They kept updating the forecast, decreasing the amt of snowfall. The temp just never got cold enough for frozen precip. It rained all day Monday. They were still predicting an inch or so of snow for Monday night. Nothin' like a good equinox storm!
When I looked out the back door onto the patio about 6am this morning, there was a light dusting of snow and it was still snowing lightly. It looked like it had been snowing for maybe an hour. It snowed until around 9am then turned to rain, then just quit altogether around 11am. I went for a walk at lunchtime in the cold and wind. It was drying out pretty quickly, despite the mid-30s temp. Tonight we're supposed to freeze, but no precip. I guess we dodged the snowstorm/sleet bullet. :-)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO' BILL!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ More seasonable, chilly weather has returned to northeast KS. We've been inside most of the day. They keep saying that precip is on the way, but so far, it's just cloudy, cold and raw. Good weather for watching March Madness playoffs, and now there's arena football -- KC Brigade!
I hope we get snow. Now I have to figure out what kind of casserole I'm going to bake tomorrow.
I am SO excited!!! We went to Office Depot to spend $20 on TurboTax. Lo and behold, there was a table of discounted digital cameras!!! I haven't had a digicam for several yrs, and it was on my wish list, but it wasn't something I had gone looking for recently. As luck wood have it, we found just the right camera at definitely the right price! I am now the proud owner of a Nikon 4600 Coolpix! It is great! The quality of the photos is GREAT! All I have to do is plug it into my USB port, and there they are! Woo-hoo! I predict there will be a lot more pix loaded onto my website in the near future!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ First grill of the season!!! Some of my co-workers have already been grilling in the evenings lately, but I finally got around to it -- it was really warm today, so we hit the grocery store and bought a couple of KC Strip steaks and some lean burger. Yum Yum Yum!!!! Those KC strips just melted in our mouths -- marinated with salt, pepper and minced GARLIC! YUM! We added rice, steamed veggies and fresh garden salad.... and cold Sierra Nevada! :)

We finally have RAIN in Lawrence this morning!!! Ya-hoo! The dryness and lack of humidity was becoming very boring, not to mention hell on my sinus membranes and throat. It was raining gently when I woke up around 5am, then really pouring when I finally got out of bed around 7:30am.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* I finally got NEW GLASSES today!!! It's the "new me"!!!! Definitely a different look and I like it a lot. No more clip-on sunglasses -- I switched to "Fit-Arounds" and they are just right for me.
Change is good!!!
