Whatever happens to strike my fancy at the moment...

Gettin' all geared up for MoKan this weekend!!! Woo-hoo!

It will be nice to have a 3-day weekend, and enjoy some great music. I plan to try out hula-hooping to see if I can get back into it. It's great exercise and I think I will really enjoy it, and even be good at if after working at it for awhile. We'll just have to see what happens. I plan on being rather sedate -- no overindulgences, just good, relaxing fun and tons of awesome live music!!!!! Plenty of iced tea and Coca-Colas, along with wonderful, fresh hot coffee, staight out of the press pot. As usual, I will dance my ass off. That's enough to keep any camping trip interesting.

Back to doing laundry....

It's springtime in Lawrence!!!
I just mowed the yard this evening, and it felt great! Everything is so green -- plenty of rain lately.

Been really busy at work, which is a good thing these days. All in all, no complaints.

Life goes on / Life is good.

ibbety ibbety... That's all for now folks! :-)

Woo-hoo! The WVU Mountaineers pulled it out against Univ North Carolina yesterday in Charlotte NC, at the Meinecke Car Care Bowl! Actually, UNC played the better game, but their QB made a very bad pass right at the end of the game and lost it for them. Too bad for them, Woo-hoo for WVU!!! That's the kind of karma that seems to occur when the Refs make a bad call -- it comes back to bite them in the butt!

Today is HOUSECLEANING DAY!!! All done with Christmas stuff; I'm gonna stuff it back from where I had it stuffed until a couple weeks ago when I un-stuffed it.

Well, these days, it's all Facebook this and MySpace that.

Sometimes it's nice to just cruise back to my lonely little website where there's no one but me, myself & I. ;->

It will be interesting to see how long I can hang around Facebook. I'm just not that much of a cyberspace busybody. I think I will mainly post some photos there. It's a convenient way to check in on folks without actually contacting them -- rather voyeuristic. And they can do the same with my info there, too. It's a "warm fuzzy" place, and that 's much better than a cold place! And I must admit, it's nice to touch base with some folks I had not touched base with in years and years. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic -- we'll see how it all shakes out.

It's damn cold outside in Lawrence tonight. Currently the mercury it hanging at 28 chilly degrees! Brrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

You just never know what you will run into when driving down Mass St in Lawrence...

Wayne & I were blithely going about our Saturday afternoon routine. We stopped by the post office to check our POBox, then decided we'd head down to Jason't Deli for some lunch. We usually cruise down Mass St to see what's up, and check out the marquee on the Granada Theater just for the heck of it. To our shock and amazement, the marquee read "Nov 8 - DAYS OF THE NEW". We both read it out loud at the same time, and were simply stunned. We hadn't known anything about it!!! We cruised back around the block, parked, and walked into the theater where a guy hanging out at the bar confirm it was "THE" Days of the New with Travis Meeks.

Just like that, our entire rest of the day had changed. We hit the ATM on the way back from the deli. Wayne drove down and bought tix at 7pm while I primped and got ready for the show. We arrived at the theater just after 8pm. The two opening bands were interesting and very loud. Not bad for bands we never heard of.

Promptly at 11pm, Travis and his ensemble began their performance, and it totally knocked our socks off!!! Travis played 5 different acoustic guitars. To put it mildly, he is an incredible explosion of musical force. His mastery of the guitar, and vocal essence simply blast you right into his universe. His drummer had the most beautiful drum kit I've ever seen, and his talent level matched Travis'. They were very locked-in to one another. Another acoustical guitar player complimented Travis' playing. The bass player played an upright contra-bass, and a cello player anchored the ensemble. All members provided backup vocals, which were complex and superb.

For 2+ hours, we inhabited Travis Meeks' universe, and it was quite an experience, that we won't soon forget.

On Thursday, we decided to add $2 to our cable TV service, and upgraded our digital converter box to High Definition. We have been enjoying our 42" flat panel TV for a couple months now (thank you to Best Buy 36 mos no-interest financing!), and decided it was time to upgrade and enjoy all the capabilities of our TV.

AWESOME!!! HD is definitely ALL it's cranked up to be!!!

Isn't this froggy weather just fantastic? no wind, just drizzle or light rain. Perfect weather for sipping a hot cup of tea or coffee, then reading a good magazine or watching TV.

We went for a long walk in the drizzle this afternoon, and it was just great. The Kansas River was lower than we've seen it before. Good weather for fishing.

Fall is definitely in the air.
